Coffee Tasting Cards for Dialling-in Espresso

Dialling-in is an indispensable part of making the best possible espresso from any bag of coffee, but keeping track of all the variables for every shot can be confusing and frustrating. So we designed these tasting cards to keep a record of your entire dialling-in process, shot-for-shot.

Each card can represent a unique coffee, with inputs at the top: Coffee Name, Batch Number, Roaster, Origin, Roast date, etc. This is followed by a Dialling-in Log with 40 entries which is enough for at least a 500-750g bag of coffee. The log records the Date of Brewing, Grind Setting, Dose, Yield, Brew Time, and Temperature, followed by an SCA-style rating system the taste of your shots.

On the back are further inputs for Aroma and Taste Notes, plus a Notes/Changes section for any additional information for a specific shot (e.g. Best flavour! or Used RDT).

The design is based on minimalist old-fashioned analogue forms that can be stored away neatly for later reference. The forms are printed on thick 324gsm high-quality art paper, which is durable enough that it can withstand a bit of coffee station mayhem! It also allows them to be clipped onto the relevant bag of coffee or clip board without creasing. The cards are slightly larger than A6 for better legibility.

These Tasting Cards neaten and sort your coffee routine, while enhancing and improving your dialling-in without wasting shots, especially when brewing over weeks and months at home. It helps identify which variables need to be changed from the day before, while ultimately improving the taste of your coffee.
