- AeroPress (Standard)
- Coffee to water ratio
- 1:3
This is a recipe on how to make an espresso-like coffee with an AeroPress. This method uses a coffee to water ratio of 1:3 and a fast brewing process to create a shot with espresso-like strength, mouthfeel, and even a layer of crema.
This is a fast pace recipe (30 seconds) so be prepared!
Notes
- To better replicate the texture and flavour of espresso, consider using a metal filter. They allow more of oils and fine particles to pass through, producing a richer body and mouthfeel similar to espresso. However some filters like the stainless steel AeroPress filter are too porous, letting water flow through too easily and reducing pressure buildup. So we recommend the much finer Caffè Concetto filters.
- You can also pair a metal filter with accessories such as the AeroPress Flow Control or Fellow Prismo. These add-ons increase pressure inside the chamber, helping to produce a more concentrated, crema rich shot.
